Beauty in Imperfection

I grew up in Basel / Switzerland, but moved to London in 2012. Since moving to this magical city, Art has become my biggest passion. At the moment, I focus on peacocks, because I believe that their individual feathers are flawed and unique, but together they represent pure perfection. This can be linked to humans as well, as I aim to represent the beauty in imperfection with most of my paintings. Like a peacock your beauty is multiplied when you spread your wings and show the world who you really are. Your flaws are what makes you perfect. All my gold influences are inspired by Gustav Klimt who is one of my biggest inspirations. I also admire the "Beauty in Death" topic, which is inspired by the Dark Romantic Naturalism Era. Alexander McQueen is my favourite example of an artist, who successfully adapted this dramatic topic into his famous garments. Alexander McQueen is a legend and will always be one of my biggest inspirations. My Bachelor thesis focused on the influence the Romantic Naturalism and Dark Romantic Naturalism movements had on the creations of Alexander McQueen. My Flower decay photography is inspired by the "Beauty in Death" topic and shows flowers which I picked up from the Cemetery. This photography series aims to show the beauty of decay. You can find my flower decay photography on my home page, which consists of my portfolio.
